Antonio's off field issues?

Okay, we know that Antonio had a poor injury-hit season but he was Hammer of the Year 2016/7. In a couple of reports, I have seen as well as comments on his dip in form ( probably due to injury) there have also been veiled references to off-field issues. Any ideas as to what these might be?

( If these have been mentioned in other threads I apologise for my ignorance)

He played zero top flight minutes before he came here. He's had 15-20 good top flight games in a 10 year career. Tjose are factual statements, not 'pops' . In my mind that doesn't warrant two new contracts, and it certainly doesn't warrant parity with someone like Christian Eriksen who has been just about the best attacking midfielder in the league for 3 years, and whose team had finished in the top 3 for three years on the trot. That is, of course, not his fault. He asked, he got.

Depends on the player. If he shows any indication that he wants to leave, yes I would. He's currently on 100k a week. He's 29. If it's going to take a long contract on 150-200k per week to keep him, then absolutely I would sell. We have some room having fucked off fonte and ayew but our wage bill is astronomical and if you max that out on one player you're kind of fucked given that even the new manager says we need 4 or 5. If The alternative is to give him s 5 year deal on 200k a week so that we end up with a 34 year old onthat sort of cash then of course I would sell. I would have thought people would have learned lessons from examples like Carroll & Nolan- long contracts, big wages, and once they reach a certain point totally unsaleable because no one will take on the wage liability. It is not complex to understand.

Erm... three times in the first 3 paragraphs he talks about what 'the club' want to do... That's the whole point. Sullivan runs the contract talks. This isn't news, so I'm not even sure what you're arguing. You agree our transfer and contract policy is shit, you agree the owners are to blame, you agree that Antonio is overpaid.. so I'm not sure what you're arguing? That the managers have secretly told Sullivan what to do?

I mean, I kind of get the argument if you're saying the owners have a record of bsvking their manager financially ? I agree actually and have said before the accusations of being skinflints is unfair when we have/had the 7th biggest wage bill in the league. They're incompetent, not tight.

The 27-year-old had already been tied down to a long-team deal, but the new terms will reportedly see his salary climb to £65,000 per week.
